As part of my second year in my Photography A-Level course, we had to complete a separate essay based study on different designers that could link to the work in our Component one project. Initially for my first project I was focussing on shutter speed and the movement of sports players. Therefore, I decided to focus my research on three different photographers who centered their work around capturing quick movement. These pieces of work and respective artists are: 'Bullet Piercing An Apple' by Harold Edgerton, 'Movements In Pole Vaulting' by Étienne-Jules Marey, as well as a direct first person study of the work of Eadweard Muybridge displayed at the V&A Museum in London.

We had to write the 3000 word essay, design the pages for it to go on and then present it in an orderly, and sophisticated manner while looking aesthetically sound. I printed my essay off as a photobook, so the pages were all of high quality material and look. I enjoyed this project as it made me research wider and look into different designers in order to enhance my learning further.
