The album I chose to re-create is the Manchester band, 'Courteeners' third album called 'ANNA'. It was released on the 4th February 2013 and reached 6th on the UK album charts. The band recorded the album with Hurts producer Joe Cross. It contains 11 songs, with the biggest hits being 'Are You In Love With A Notion?' and 'Lose Control'.

Courteeners are an Indie Rock band from Middleton, Manchester. They formed in 2006 and created their first and biggest album in 2008, called 'St. Jude'. Since, they have created 4 more albums (including ANNA): 'Falcon' (2010), 'Concrete Love' (2014) and 'Mapping The Rendezvous' (2016). Front man 'Liam Fray' has been accompanied by Drummer 'Michael Campbell' and Guitarist 'Daniel Conan Moores' since their formation, whereas Bass Guitarist 'Mark Cuppello' left the boys in 2015.

The band were blown away by the fan's positive reactions to the album, as Fray said (in an interview with the 'Huffington Post'), 'The reaction from everyone has been absolutely unbelievable, really humbling.'

The album itself represents someone of the opposite sex causing you 'heartache, lust, love. All of the above, at the same time.' This is where I got my inspiration for my design, as it speaks to me as an alternative album which represents love.

The design for the album was created by a designer called 'Paul X Johnson', who is a North East born, London based illustrator. His work depicts strange, unsettling settings which feature stone-faced characters.
